Comedian and author David Walliams lost his contract with publishing house.
Best-selling young adult author and comedian David Walliams has been dropped by his longtime publishing house, the company has said.
A representative for the publisher said: "Following a thorough review, and under the leadership of its new CEO, HarperCollins UK has decided not to publish future works by David Walliams."
Media sources suggest that the decision was reached following an inquiry regarding reports of inappropriate behaviour directed at women.
The firm declined to specify the reasons for its decision, noting: "It is not our policy to discuss private personnel issues."
An Illustrious Literary Career
Walliams stands as a most successful children's authors, boasting over over six tens of millions of copies worldwide in five dozen languages.
The debut children's novel from Walliams, *The Boy in the Dress*, came out under HarperCollins fifteen years ago.
Several of his works, including *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have found new life as television films.
He has published over four dozen titles combined, including a Christmas book named *Santa & Son*, which was released through HarperCollins last autumn.
Television and Literature
His initial claim to fame came on the broadcast sketch program *Little Britain* and has been honored with National Television Awards for his role as a panelist on *Britain's Got Talent*.
He was awarded an OBE several years ago in recognition of his work for the charitable sector and arts community.
This development follows the selection of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's recent CEO in October.
