Barça Ready for Inaugural Match at Renovated Camp Nou this Saturday
Barcelona have announced they will play at the partially upgraded Camp Nou on Saturday. The club will host the Basque side in La Liga 30 months following their departure so building work could begin.
“Returning home was our dream. Finally, it’s happening. We are back at Spotify Camp Nou.”
Attendance will be limited but 45,401 spectators are permitted inside under the licence granted. Once fully finished, the stadium’s capacity will reach almost 105,000 spectators, increasing from the former 99,000. Officials confirmed finished work included a renovated tunnel for players along with upgraded changing facilities.
Stadium Testing
Barça organized a public practice inside the stadium earlier this month. The club said they are seeking authorization from Uefa to host the next European match versus the German side in December at Camp Nou. Their recent games have been held at the Olympic Stadium.
