Anthony Joshua Released from Hospital in Nigeria Following Fatal Car Crash
The British boxer Anthony Joshua has been released from care, officials in Lagos announced on late Wednesday. The athlete was caught in a vehicular crash in the Lagos area on December 29th, a devastating event that claimed the lives of two of his valued colleagues.
Recovering from Minor Injuries
Joshua had been receiving medical attention while healing from his light wounds, representatives stated earlier on Monday. A government official, Gbenga Omotoso, said in a statement on X that Joshua was judged healthy enough to “recuperate at home”.
“Anthony and his mother were at the mortuary in Lagos this afternoon to say their last goodbyes to his two departed friends as they were being readied to be sent home,” Omotosho said.
A Tribute to the Fallen
The two men who died were identified as Latif Ayodele, a personal trainer, and Sina Ghami, a conditioning specialist. The official further stated that the boxer was “heavy-hearted and overcome with emotion over the tragic loss of his two dear friends.”
The news of his discharge follows the boxing community shared its support for the fighter in the aftermath of the devastating accident.
